Hi! I’m Shanita! Junior artist at Black Opal Tattoo.

From a young age I’ve always loved art.

Paintings were my go to gifts for my family and the joy I got from seeing how happy they made them sparked my drive even more, especially my granddad who recognised my passion straight away.

He was the only person in my family with tattoos and always encouraged me to pursue this career path. After he passed I made it my goal to finally make it here and I couldn’t have been happier when Sam and Amy took me on as their apprentice.

I love tattooing creative, unique, colourful and often humorous tattoos as this fits my personality to a T. I like experimenting with texture in my tattoos, such as embroidery patch and glitter tattoos as they’re both colourful and unique!

A style that I really love is Japanese traditional, the bright colours and bold lines are beautiful and that style is definitely something I’d like to continue exploring and add to my portfolio.

When I’m not tattooing you can find me spending time with my four gorgeous cats and playing video games. I’m also a huge horror fan so if a new horror movie comes out I’ll be there first in line!
