My Biography

About Me

Hey, I’m Charlotte! I’m a resident tattoo artist at Black Opal Tattoo Studio.

I’ve loved creating art for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was constantly getting told off for drawing on the walls at home, so I suppose becoming a tattoo artist was always on the cards!

I started my tattooing journey as an apprentice at Black Opal, and I’m incredibly grateful to Sam and Amy for giving me the opportunity to turn something I’ve always loved into a career. Having now completed my apprenticeship, I’m proud to be part of the studio as a resident artist.

I enjoy working across a variety of styles, from blackwork to colourful anime-inspired pieces, but my biggest passion is engraving and woodcut tattoos. There’s something about the bold lines, intricate details and traditional illustrative feel that I absolutely love. It’s a style I’m especially keen to explore further and develop into a bigger part of my portfolio.

When I’m not tattooing, you’ll usually find me trying somewhere new to eat (I’m a massive foodie!), playing video games, making weird and wonderful clothes, travelling or sketching up new ideas.

Fashion is another huge creative outlet for me, and I’d love to eventually combine my passion for tattooing and clothing by turning my artwork into apparel. The idea of creating wearable art in more ways than one is something that really excites me!

Whether you’ve got a fully formed idea or just the beginnings of one, I’d love to hear from you and help bring it to life. Drop me a message and let’s create something together!
